Soul Eater Not! Episode 1

Tuesdays

Soul Eater is another one of my favorite anime. I watched it for the first time last summer and I've watched it three times since then. I'm currently reading the manga. After the battle with Brew, the anime and manga go in different directions. I'm liking the manga better.

When I heard about another Soul Eater, I was too happy. I was thinking OMG YES! ANOTHER SEASON!!!! But then, I found out that it was a spin-off and the original characters weren't important in it. I'm slightly disappointed. I mean with all the popularity it's gotten, Soul Eater can go for a second season.

Opening: Monochrome by Dancing Dolls

It's so cute and girly. OMG! Is that Death the Kid? Ugh so cute....OMG is that Liz and Patty?! So much cute...literally, this was me watching the opening. I'm not much of a cutesy opening type of person. I like more of a rock based, catchy opening. It fits the anime though

My Overall Reaction

Having read the manga, I knew what to expect coming into this. Soul Eater Not! is more of a slice of life, comedy anime with a hint of action. Not really my thing. The animation is different than Soul Eater so it was weird seeing the original characters redesigned. Also, having only seen the anime in English, it was weied for me to hear the original characters speak in Japanese.

I like Tsugumi. She's cute and determined to master turning into a weapon. Anya annoys me. She reminds me of Carla from Fairy Tail. Ugh she is stuck up and prissy. But girl can fight! She really threw down against those douchy boys. Btw, the whole fight scene was just too funny to me. I mean, the boy couldn't even turn all the way into a weapon! Meme is just as annoying as Anya. I don't like the overly stupid characters. They aren't funny. They are annoying. I can't even picture Meme as a meister. I'm curious to see how the three of them will be broken up. I didn't get that far in the manga. I want Tsugumi to be paired with Anya, especially after seeing her fight. I will continue to watch it.

Ending: "Yūgure Happy Go (夕暮れハッピーゴー;Evening Happy Go)" by Haruka Chisuga, Aoi Yūki & Saori Hayami

The ending is more catchy than the opening. I enjoy it, even though it's still girly. I like the animation sequence also.

Welp, until next time! ^-^
