Anime News: New Black Butler Series to Start in July!!!

Even though the Spring anime season just started, some of the Summer anime are already posted. While browsing through the list, I come across this awesome news! I fangirled for like 10 minutes. I mean, I couldn't make full sentences. For me, this is definitely unexpected. I honestly thought the series was over and done with.

The new series is called Kuroshitsuji: Book of Circus. This series will be based off of the Noah's Ark Circus Arc in the manga, which occurs right after the Curry Contest Arc (which ended at episode 15 in the first season). I will definitely be watching and reviewing this one!

Welp, until next time!

Anime News: Attack on Titan to Show on Toonami!

Source: http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2014/04/12-1/attack-on-titan-to-run-on-cartoon-network

Yes, you read it right! Toonami is going to start airing Attack on Titan starting May 3rd at 11:30pm. I don't think there could be a better time slot for this! Just in case you have no idea of what this anime is about (hows that rock you're living under?), here is a short summary of the plot: these giant creatures (Titans) suddenly appeared and began wiping out the human race. The story follows Eren Jeger, Mikasa Ackerman, and Armin Arlert. Their hometown was attacked by the Titans, causing Eren to lose his mother. Once they are safely evacuated, Eren vows to join the Survey Corps (army who fight the Titans) to avenge his mother. That's all I'm going to say about it because I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it. Trust me, it has alot of cliffhangers and twists and turns. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it.

Attack on Titan will be airing May 3rd at 11:30pm on Toonami, moving Space Dandy to 12:30am.

Welp, until next time!!

Anime News: "K" Anime to have a Movie!

So...K is an anime that premiered during the Fall 2012 season. That was the first season I was really into anime. I was watching this along with Blast of the Tempest, My Little Monster, and Sword Art Online. Basically, the story goes kinda like this: Yashiro, an ordinary high school student is suspected of murdering Tatara Totsuka, an important member of HOMRA. So now HOMRA and two other groups are after him for revenge but he can't remember killing anyone. He convinces one of the people out to kill him, Kuroh, that he is innocent and together, they try to clear his name. The anime is more complicated than this though. It was a good one to watch.

I just found out that K will have a sequel in the form of a movie called K Missing Kings. This movie is supposed to premiere in Japanese theatres July 12th but apparently, it is going to premiere at the Anime Expo and Japan Expo in the US a few days before. I find this awesome that we get it first :) I'm excited to watch the movie and I'm glad the series is getting a sequel. Now, I haven't seen the series since 2012 so this is the perfect excuse to re-watch it...dubbed hehehe. I like vaguely remember what happens in the series and I need a refresher so I won't be lost while watching the movie.

Welp, until next time!

Black Bullet: Episode 1

Tuesdays

One of the anime I wanted to check out this season is Black Bullet. The picture they have for the series made it look interesting. The description for the anime sounded interesting also.

Opening Song: Black Bullet by flipSide

So, the beginning and end of the opening remind me of the Attack on Titan opening. Overall, it is a catchy song, especially the chorus. The scenes they picked make me curious to see who the people are and what's going to happen.

My Overall Reaction

First, let me just say that this anime reminds me of Aria the Scarlet Ammo. Enju's personality is so much like Aria's. They are both skilled fighters, although they fight differently. Really, the only big difference is that Aria wasn't begging Kenchi to have sex with her. Satomi is a lot like Kenchi as well. Both are skilled with a gun (although Satomi doesn't have to be in hysteria mode to have skill). Their personalities are similar also. Both amines have a similar feel to them. They can be serious one minute and hilarious the next.

I was pleasantly surprised that there was violence so early in the anime. Now that is how you start an anime! I'm a sucker for violence. Man, did I fall in love with these characters. The masked guy that killed those people was awesome. He just didn't care. Kisara looks like she can be bad ass. Sumire (sensei) just greeted Satomi like "why haven't you killed yourself yet?" This show looks to be a good one. It's funny one minute and serious the next. There is violence and a tragic story. I will stick with it.

Ending: Tokohana by Nagi Yanagi

Very annoyingly, they played the ending song while talking <.< But I was still able to hear it. It's catchy. It's got a rock feel to it. I like it. Finally! An anime with catchy music!

Welp, until next time!

Soul Eater Not! Episode 1

Tuesdays

Soul Eater is another one of my favorite anime. I watched it for the first time last summer and I've watched it three times since then. I'm currently reading the manga. After the battle with Brew, the anime and manga go in different directions. I'm liking the manga better.

When I heard about another Soul Eater, I was too happy. I was thinking OMG YES! ANOTHER SEASON!!!! But then, I found out that it was a spin-off and the original characters weren't important in it. I'm slightly disappointed. I mean with all the popularity it's gotten, Soul Eater can go for a second season.

Opening: Monochrome by Dancing Dolls

It's so cute and girly. OMG! Is that Death the Kid? Ugh so cute....OMG is that Liz and Patty?! So much cute...literally, this was me watching the opening. I'm not much of a cutesy opening type of person. I like more of a rock based, catchy opening. It fits the anime though

My Overall Reaction

Having read the manga, I knew what to expect coming into this. Soul Eater Not! is more of a slice of life, comedy anime with a hint of action. Not really my thing. The animation is different than Soul Eater so it was weird seeing the original characters redesigned. Also, having only seen the anime in English, it was weied for me to hear the original characters speak in Japanese.

I like Tsugumi. She's cute and determined to master turning into a weapon. Anya annoys me. She reminds me of Carla from Fairy Tail. Ugh she is stuck up and prissy. But girl can fight! She really threw down against those douchy boys. Btw, the whole fight scene was just too funny to me. I mean, the boy couldn't even turn all the way into a weapon! Meme is just as annoying as Anya. I don't like the overly stupid characters. They aren't funny. They are annoying. I can't even picture Meme as a meister. I'm curious to see how the three of them will be broken up. I didn't get that far in the manga. I want Tsugumi to be paired with Anya, especially after seeing her fight. I will continue to watch it.

Ending: "Yūgure Happy Go (夕暮れハッピーゴー;Evening Happy Go)" by Haruka Chisuga, Aoi Yūki & Saori Hayami

The ending is more catchy than the opening. I enjoy it, even though it's still girly. I like the animation sequence also.

Welp, until next time! ^-^

Fairy Tail Episode 176: The Dragon King

I went through hell and back to find this picture. I love this picture. I love seeing Natsu's caring side, especially towards Lucy.

Out of all 14 anime I'm watching this spring, Fairy Tail is my most anticipated one. I'm OBSESSED with Fairy Tail. I'm pretty sure I have a problem. At one point, I was watching the anime at three different places. I fell in love with the show from episode one. I actually considered giving up Fairy Tail as a whole for Lent but I couldn't go through with it. Not with the new season starting. I've actually read the manga so I already know what is going to happen. But reading the manga is totally different than seeing the anime.

Opening: BoA: Masayume Chasing

Okay. Let me just say that I am absolutely positively in love with this opening. It stuck with me like glue. Only today did I realize that BoA sings it! BoA is a kpop artist that I am a huge fan of. I love her and her music. I love her even more now that I know she sings the opening.

The opening isn't too revealing for the anime only fans. Just the usual showing of who is fighting who. I'm glad because it's better to be surprised :) The animation though. I liked the previous animation better. This season, the animation is more like the manga. It's throwing everything off for me but I'm sure that I will get used to it.

My Overall Reaction

I like how the beginning foreshadowed what was to come. I think it was the perfect way to re-start the series, especially with the foreshadowing in episode 175 with Levy. Then BAM! It cuts back to the present. The calm before the storm. Everyone is just as crazy as usual. I've missed their craziness the most. And Erza wasn't playing around with her cake! Then of course Gajeel comes in and takes the dragon slayers ( plus their exceeds and Lucy and Gray) to the dragon graveyard. Things start getting a little more serious. They show great character development with Wendy being able to use Milky Way to summon the dragon spirit. Really, everyone has developed so much from the beginning of the show. Or even since the last arc. I found it surprising that Zirconis had a sense of humor, especially with the way he died. It make it more believable that Natsu, Wendy, and Gajeel were raised by dragons. I always pictured all dragons as mean spirited creatures. The dragon back story was interesting. I was wondering where Acnologia came from.

The whole Sabertooth scene was like a huge HELL YEA! Jiemma is an asshole and I feel that he got what he deserved and I'm just going to leave it at that. Then Jellal and the hooded person. Now when I found out who the hooded person was, I was like WWWWWWHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTT?!?!?!!? And I see that they are going to drag out revealing their identity for a while.

Overall, I enjoyed this episode. It was typical Fairy Tail and I'm glad to see that nothing changed. I will say that I regret reading the manga. Now I know everything that will happen and the suspense is taking out. No one to blame but myself though.

Ending: Kimi to Kare to Boku to Kanojo to BREATHE

It's all Na Lu! All of it! Now, I like Na Lu (Natsu and Lucy) but I also like Na Li (Nastu and Lisanna). I myself can picture Na Li happening though. I mean come on! They played house! There is so much history there! I can only picture Natsu and Lucy as friends but we shall see.

The song wasn't half bad. I haven't fell in love with it but it's not bad to listen to. I was kinda hoping for an upbeat catchy theme song or ending though. The slow songs just aren't my thing.

Welp, until next time ^-^
