I went through hell and back to find this picture. I love this picture. I love seeing Natsu's caring side, especially towards Lucy.
Out of all 14 anime I'm watching this spring, Fairy Tail is my most anticipated one. I'm OBSESSED with Fairy Tail. I'm pretty sure I have a problem. At one point, I was watching the anime at three different places. I fell in love with the show from episode one. I actually considered giving up Fairy Tail as a whole for Lent but I couldn't go through with it. Not with the new season starting. I've actually read the manga so I already know what is going to happen. But reading the manga is totally different than seeing the anime.
Opening: BoA: Masayume Chasing
Okay. Let me just say that I am absolutely positively in love with this opening. It stuck with me like glue. Only today did I realize that BoA sings it! BoA is a kpop artist that I am a huge fan of. I love her and her music. I love her even more now that I know she sings the opening.
The opening isn't too revealing for the anime only fans. Just the usual showing of who is fighting who. I'm glad because it's better to be surprised :) The animation though. I liked the previous animation better. This season, the animation is more like the manga. It's throwing everything off for me but I'm sure that I will get used to it.
My Overall Reaction
I like how the beginning foreshadowed what was to come. I think it was the perfect way to re-start the series, especially with the foreshadowing in episode 175 with Levy. Then BAM! It cuts back to the present. The calm before the storm. Everyone is just as crazy as usual. I've missed their craziness the most. And Erza wasn't playing around with her cake! Then of course Gajeel comes in and takes the dragon slayers ( plus their exceeds and Lucy and Gray) to the dragon graveyard. Things start getting a little more serious. They show great character development with Wendy being able to use Milky Way to summon the dragon spirit. Really, everyone has developed so much from the beginning of the show. Or even since the last arc. I found it surprising that Zirconis had a sense of humor, especially with the way he died. It make it more believable that Natsu, Wendy, and Gajeel were raised by dragons. I always pictured all dragons as mean spirited creatures. The dragon back story was interesting. I was wondering where Acnologia came from.
The whole Sabertooth scene was like a huge HELL YEA! Jiemma is an asshole and I feel that he got what he deserved and I'm just going to leave it at that. Then Jellal and the hooded person. Now when I found out who the hooded person was, I was like WWWWWWHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTT?!?!?!!? And I see that they are going to drag out revealing their identity for a while.
Overall, I enjoyed this episode. It was typical Fairy Tail and I'm glad to see that nothing changed. I will say that I regret reading the manga. Now I know everything that will happen and the suspense is taking out. No one to blame but myself though.
Ending: Kimi to Kare to Boku to Kanojo to BREATHE
It's all Na Lu! All of it! Now, I like Na Lu (Natsu and Lucy) but I also like Na Li (Nastu and Lisanna). I myself can picture Na Li happening though. I mean come on! They played house! There is so much history there! I can only picture Natsu and Lucy as friends but we shall see.
The song wasn't half bad. I haven't fell in love with it but it's not bad to listen to. I was kinda hoping for an upbeat catchy theme song or ending though. The slow songs just aren't my thing.
Welp, until next time ^-^
